Beauty Insider

Chilean-born Pia Whitesell is an actor and model who’s appeared in Neighbours, Home and Away and Bite Club. Her latest beauty venture is Macabalm, made from organic macadamias and Kakadu plums,

What I’m loving right now Doterra Frankincense and Lavender essential oils (doterra.com, $91 and $31 respectively) for setting my mood; RMS concealer (mecca.com.au, $55), which is so light and easy to use; Kora Foaming Cleanser (koraorganics.com, $40); and M.A.C Eye Pencil in Coffee
(maccosmetics.com.au, $38), which I wear every day.

Beauty icon Katharine Hepburn. She was elegant, chic and powerful.

The rule I live by Drink lots of water.

Top beauty tips Burning sage or palo santo during my beauty routine makes it feel more like a wellbeing ritual. Also, I try not to over-wash my hair. I’m always swimming in the ocean, so popping on a hair mask helps.

Must-have beauty product Macabalm (macabalm.com, $20) helps with everything, including soothing my sons’ skateboarding mishaps. I also use it on my lips and cuticles and as a highlighter for my face.

Favourite exercise routine I practise Fluidform Pilates and I’m still really active with my boys [Isaiah, 18, and Lennox, 14]. We’re always in the ocean and I like to race them down the street when we’re out for a bike ride.

Trend: Clean sweep

Cleansing is an important first step in any skincare routine, and the three products we’ve rounded up this week tick all the right boxes. Not only do they eliminate dirt and remove make-up, they leave skin perfectly primed for the next steps.

I love a bit of colour â€" and Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Color in Kiss From A Rose (mecca.com.au, $44) is a treat. There are six shades, and singling out just one favourite is impossible. You can wear them smudged on the eyelid, as a liner or as a lip highlighter.

Ask Steph

What finger should be used to apply cream eyeshadow?
For all eye products, including creams and serums, go for the ring finger, as it is perfectly sized for the shape of your eyelid. The warmth of your finger will also help the eyeshadow melt onto your lids.
