    Gleeson says the jury must consider whether Greene had been aggressive, disrespectful, forceful or demonstrative. Any of those will automatically trigger a guilty finding.

    Greene pleads not guilty to the charge of making intentional contact to umpire Stevic.

    Ihle concedes though that Greene made contact to Stevic.

    The hearing is being held virtually. The tribunal chairman is Ross Howie, with jurors Stephen Jurica, Shane Wakelin and Richard Loveridge.

    Toby Greene’s run-in with umpire Matt Stevic came just three days after concerns about player behaviour towards umpires were discussed at a meeting involving many of football’s heavy hitters.

    Well-placed sources have confirmed to The Age that the AFL’s competition committee â€" which features a host of club and industry leaders including Greene’s Greater Western Sydney captain Stephen Coniglio â€" spoke about a perceived trend of dissent towards on-field officials which some members of the committee agreed were trickling down to community football.

    Greene is staring at a potentially season-ending suspension.
